  • What is the main purpose of therapy?
The overall focus of therapy is to you identify negative patterns and then help you develop healthier replacements. All lives and situations are different, and you will even experience different circumstances throughout different phases of your own life. Counseling is not designed to provide specific advice so much as it is designed to help you better understand and manage life as it comes your way.
  • Can therapy help me?
Yes! Many times people feel that their problem isn't "serious enough" for therapy. However, mental health counseling is designed to help people with problems of all sorts; from mental disorders that impact functioning to small distresses that simply cause frustration. There's no one individual that has life completely figured out. Each of us have times and circumstances in life where we can learn and grow. At Magnolia MHS, our passion is to provide both HOPE and GROWTH throughout all of life's phases.
  • For what types of issues does Magnolia MHS provide therapy?
We have a variety of clinicians that can provide a variety of services. We cater to all ages and all issues. All Magnolia MHS clinicians are equipped to address life's needs in general, and we also have clinicians that have particular interests and specialties in various areas of life (i.e., addiction, grief, senior citizens, children, etc.). In short, we are prepared and equipped to help no matter the challenge being faced.
  • What can I expect during my sessions?
Each session will be tailored to you and your specific needs. Your clinician will work with you to develop goals and objectives for the session, and will use evidence-based therapies to help you reach those goals. Additionally, the methods used within each session will also be tailored to your personality and learning types.
  • I feel like my problems have gone away for now. Do I still need therapy?
Many times people seek therapy during a time of difficulty only to have the problem at hand recede. This does not mean the problem has gone away, however. Therapy through Magnolia MHS is designed to equip you with the skills and tools needed to better face life's challenges, both current and future challenges. In short, you can always benefit from therapy!
